Charlie Chan in Castle in the Desert

The last Charlie Chan for 20th Century Fox before the commodity was picked up by low budget studio Monogram a couple of years later. This was during Sidney Toler era of the master detective and he delivers the usual fun snooping, full of wise words, we all love Chan for. This time at a remote mansion for the 'old dark house' formula. Perhaps a little underwritten then time around, but still worth wild for the Charlie Chan fans.

The Sidney Toler at Fox Era of the Chan movies just kind of putters out with this one. Gone is most of the atmospherics from his earlier ones, and while Victor Sen Yung does get some funny moments running around in a suit of armor, there isn't much else noteworthy.
