I think this is the 4th movie adaptation of the popular play. Charley's Aunt (1941) this time stars Jack Benny in drags.... and it's a match! Benny's dry approach makes for a less exaggerated old gal, which makes this the best version of the Aunt I've seen. Benny wasn't alone. This was by far a collaborate effort with such amazing comical characters such as Edmund Gwenn, Reginald Owen, Ernest Cossart etc, camping it up splendidly! Manages to get a big laugh out of a already old routine.
