Cesar Chavez

I am thankful to watch this biography about Cesar Chavez. I was not very familiar with his story. It's not hard to appreciate his sacrifices for helping some of the most unfortunate among us. Migrant field workers still live a brutally harsh life, working extremely hard for a meager living. It's hard to imagine that conditions were much worse before his movement improved conditions and pay. Great cast and a worthwhile story, but much more educational than entertaining.

A fitting tribute to a beautiful human.

I completely understand that criticism. But setting aside such aesthetic considerations (as well as assorted political ones), Cesar Chavez still succeeds at challenging viewers to look at the world from the perspective of people Jesus called "the least of these"--a perspective it's all too easy to lose track of in a culture that all too often forgets that such people even exist (pluggedin.com)
