Caught in the Draft

Really preachy and heavy-handed in the beginning but luckily this lightens up after Bob joins the army. The finale is a bit dumb but overall still entertaining.

Not as funny as most of the Road movies, but still fun if you like Bob Hope. I didn't realize until watching this just now bad an actress Dorothy Lamour was. I rarely mind WW2 patriotism in movies, but the woodenness of her propaganda-tract-reciting was annoying.

Bob Hope cracks jokes while chasing Dorthy Lamour, same story different setting. If you add Bing Crosby you would get a road movie.

Cowardly movie star Bob Hope gets drafted and wisely tries to hitch-up with Dorothy Lamour to get out of it. A bundle of giggles, but lacking the really roaring laughs. At least it was constantly funny in that young Bob Hope way.
