Castle on the Hudson

Castle on the Hudson (1940) was a script Warner Bros liked to use to groom their bad boys. Variation of Spencer Tracy's 20,000 Years in Sing Sing (1932) and Humphrey Bogart's San Quentin (1937). Now it's John Garfield's turn to play the convict taught a lesson. In all honesty it's probable the worst of the three, but Garfield comes out of it alright and Ann Sheridan came out even better. Passable film, but the leads before him were harder then the Jimmy Cagney-lite Garfield came across here.
