Cash Only

Cash Only, is a realistic, dark thriller in the backdrop of an Albanian Neighborhood. Nicola Shreli is convincing as Elvis, a father who tries to make ends meet no matter what. The film raises the tension inch by inch every minute like a crescendo until the brutal finale. Though the deus ex machina at the end cheapens it a bit.

Pleasantly surprising low budget genre flick that ratchets up some serious tension and does not relent until its brutal (if perhaps disappointingly simple) conclusion; no less impressively, the first half of the film manages some decent world-building and characterization. Reminded me of Refn's "Pusher" trilogy rather than the usual plastic of U.S. crime thrillers. Nickola Shreli proves himself as talented an actor as he is a writer.

Sorry, but the second part, the Thriller one, was such a comedown that from 70 I have to "downgrade" to 55. I found it too slow for a Thriller if we take the whole thing.

Very decent low budget effort taking place in albanian neighbourhood. Nicola Shreli is convincing as a father who tries to make ends meet no matter what, even taking money that are not his. Then all hell breaks loose. Look out for a very demented and brutal conclusion.
