Carmilla

Adapting Carmilla for modern audiences needs a steady hand - not just to make the (barely) subtextual gayness text without equating it with murder, but also to sell the very Gothic romanticism of it without turning it into either Twilight or P&P&Z. Harris mostly does a great job in that regard - so much is unspoken but clear (which is good because what's actually spoken is sadly often hard to hear). It has to be a tragedy, but the ending still works.
