Captive Girl

Better than Mark of the Gorilla (1950), but not by much. Johnny Weissmuller at least feels like he's part of the story in this one. Interesting with Buster Crabbe there. He's another guy that once played Tarzan, but it feels more like a cameo than a full-fledged role. The Captive Girl (1950) is played by Anita Lhoest, a swimmer making her only screen appearance. She's got the look, but probable not much talent for this.

Buster Crabbe still beats Weissmuller any day of the week, even if this isn't a Tarzan movie. It's actually pretty depressing to know that Weissmuller retired from the loincloth to do the same thing only in khaki with a menial budget and forgetting that he's supposed to do something other than read lines from a cue card.
