Captain January

cute, short feature for the child actor known as baby peggy. this movie relies heavily on people going awww pretty much constantly, but honestly i found bosworth to be more endearing and he's a craggy old, drunk on the verge of death. If you sum it all up it's got enough schmaltz in it that no one on the planet should be able to hate it unless you're a nazi or something.

Baby Peggy, being the Shirley Temple of the silent era, it's only logical that one come across a story they both did. And the story near the sea about Captain January is that one. And this silent was a highly enjoyable one. More so for the touching emotional moments compared to the more comic and dancing stuff in the sound version. In this film it's old Hobart Bosworth that deserves the most credit. The two are wonderful together! And I dare you not to shed a tear during the separation scene!
