Captain Caution

can keep the attention, but just barely. it's by no means a bad movie, just lacking in the area of good plot and dialog. it's a decent idea though.

Hal Roach stretching out away from doing just comedies producing a B-swashbuckler with a pretty good cast and solid action. What made Captain Caution (1940) for me was Bruce Cabot's sleazy villain. An early starring part for Victor Mature as the so-called good guy, but he was so serious and emotional it was it was difficult to warm up to the character. The film also does have period where it's not very thrilling, but for a independent production it's quite good.

Pirate movie repurposed into the war of 1812 flick with pirate overtones.
