Guy is an experienced British fighter pilot who is in command of Britain's first manned mission to space. a very "sad" example of British inferiority complex against the major camps of the Cold War. Also it serves to "imperial" ideals almost 30 years after the fall of the Soviet Union. Trying to assert the "British pride" in the Space Race by downplaying the USSR as an articulation of mere "hub of espiponage" is nothing but cheap.

This is what one call acting in a confined space. Almost the entire film takes place in a tiny space Capsule (2015) with Edmund Kingsley talking either to himself or the radio trying to get his capsule fixed. Interesting idea, but not for one second did I believe Kingsley was a astronaut. And with that.... didn't really feel the trauma at all.
