Of course with James Mason starring there was going to be a certain quality about Candlelight in Algeria (1944). Unfortunately that didn't stop there from being long stretches where this war drama wasn't very interesting at all. Certainly could have done more to make it exciting. The duo with Carla Lehmann did create some short and sweet moments of joy to enhance the experience, but overall not as good as it should have been.
