The end of the second gave me with high hopes that the series might continue with a little more ambition, a larger scale infection seemed like the direction it was going, and with it, more gore and bodies, which is what I was really after. This one acts as a prequel to a series that didn't need a prequel. Just imagine the original with a lower budget, on a tropical island with some secret research facility bullshit and a middle aged Samwise Gamgee, that'll put you in the ballpark for this crap.

This film wasn't bad but it is pretty forgettable. Also as others have mentioned the movie is filmed like a zombie flick and the make up effects reflect that as well. And any attempt as humor falls flat as well.

Turned it off like 1/4 in, maybe that's unfair but hey. Hated what I'd seen leading into that.

I've had a higher fever climbing an escalator than this movie provided. I'm very disappointed in this film. The first film in this series is amazing and remains one of my favorite horror films of all time. The second movie was a bit of a letdown, but it wasn't horrible. This movie switched production companies and took the series in a more serious/zombie direction and failed in an epic way...

The directing was pretty solid though the story did not give anything interesting. The plot circles around the familiar horror routines. The cat fight in the end was kind of nice.

When it starts you think; "great, kind of different to the others" but when you just arrive at the hour of the film, it just gets boring. I stopped watching there.

More of a conventional horror film than the first two (though I'm not sure what FoxyRussian here is talking about, as pretty much everyone is desperate and terrified of contagion or of watching themselves falling apart, no pseudo-zombies or random evil need apply). Better than I expected, especially given the director's ALTITUDE. Important to watch the credits for the film's best sequence., which works better because it subverts any residual warmth felt toward the Hick Who Made It In The City.

What would happen if the Cabin Fever series wasn't as funny and the sickness turned every non-major character into a pseudo-Zombie? Generic Horror happens. Good gore (when you can see it) and a solid first half, which is very much like the original Cabin Fever, keep this from being total garbage. But characters randomly turning evil and DARK scenes making the violence hard to see hurt this movie severely and make it a chore instead of a guilty pleasure.
