A game (and endearing) attempt to recapture the spirit of a trashy 70s Euro horror cheapie – as with the genuine article, this is more about mania and hysteria than anything approaching a build in tension, and while it’s never particularly scary, there’s something about the low-budget, fly-by-the-seat-of-the-pants style that works for this silly, lurid, occulty material. Cast do the best with what they get and prove themselves expert screamers and emoters.
