Diminishing returns. We have seen similar characters with more depth, and similar scenes with better direction in the previous films. There are also a bunch of same actors in different roles which makes the character continuity very confusing. The final fight with the paint cans was refreshing, but also felt like it belonged in a different film. Maybe I would have enjoyed this more if I hadn't watched it so quickly after the first two, as now I kept comparing it with the previous, better films.

This loses a lot of the charm, grit, and continuity of the first two films and settled into being a standard Yakuza film. It was still a fun watch and Goro is still a charismatic character but this entry in the series had generic written all over it.
