The feature debut of Paul King, director of the phenomenally successful TV series, The Mighty Boosh, Bunny and the Bull is a road movie set entirely in a flat. Stephen Turnbull hasn't been outside in months, he refuses to interact with the world until a sudden infestation of mice forces him to relive a disastrous trek around Europe with his friend Bunny, a womanising, gambling-addicted booze-hound. It isn't "Mighty Boosh: The Movie" like people were expecting and it's all the better for it. Visually stunning and equal parts dark and heart warming, "Bunny and the Bull" is one of the most entertaining low budget indie films of recent years.

Visually very interesting and it manages to overcome a small buget in inventive ways. Unfortunately the plot weak and the two main characters feel like a poor man's Mighty Boosh, plus it contains the most irritating love story ever.

I didn't know Paul King had this in him! A bit different from the Boosh, but amazing all the same; I really enjoyed the whole hand-made aesthetic, it was charming and fit in really well. Edward Hogg and Simon Farnaby were also great as the leads -- the kind of quirky that doesn't come off as forced. A definite recommendation for fans of The Science of Sleep and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

Ehhh. Visually stunning, yes. Great sets, indeed. Story line was shite.

Unique, vibrant and real (despite the cardboard sets)

An agoraphobic man recalls the ill fated road trip that led to his self-imposed isolation in this feature debut from the director of The Mighty Boosh TV series. It's unsurprisingly very Booshy (ie visually arresting sequences of juvenile fantasy married to vulgar humor), and Boosh stars Julian Barratt and Noel Fielding both have small roles, forcing one to wonder if the whole thing mightn't have been funnier if they had starred. Answer: probably. I really wanted to like this more than I did.

An unusual buddy movie that takes an off-kilter shot at the road movie, to varying degrees of success. There's some good character stuff, but the whimsy is comparable to The Mighty Boosh - with which this movie shares both cast and crew - in that it's a little inconsistent and doesn't always quite hit the mark.

i only watched it because of the mighty boosh cast, but i must say that this movie would've worked with less known actors as well. julian barratt's character fits in the story best i think, noel fielding does the worst spanish accent ever, btw, but still... it's a fresh and entertaining low-budget movie.

It suffers unfair flak for not being the Mighty Boosh film people expected, but it's a visually brilliant, sweet, and surprisingly sad buddy movie that stands on its own merits.

It's a hit and miss mish-mash of sketches and vignettes, but it's wonderfully imaginative and beautifully put together. I was taken by surprise a bit by the eventual dramatic payoff, but that's definitely a positive. Certainly more focused than any of the longer Mighty Boosh live shows.

Neat production design but the story is completely forgettable.

I had very high expectations seeing Richard Ayoade in the cast, I was very let down to say the least.

A good hearted and visually brilliant buddy road movie with an original narrative. Very nice movie debut for King and nice to see the Boosh in small roles.

It reminds me of Eagle vs. Shark - a hip, youthful dramedy. You know, the kind art-school dropouts enjoy. Visually it is very interesting (a la Science of Sleep), but suffers from the same problem Eagle vs. Shark does - the storyline is poor, and sometimes a bit too crude.

The film has a home-made aesthetic which is very creative and Michel Gondry-like, employing handcrafted paper backgrounds and seamless animation techniques. Unfortunately the two main characters, who are supposed to have a Withnail & I-like rapport, do nothing to get you on their side. One is a rash bully, the other is a wimp, and I lost interest after 30 minutes. The cameos by "Britain's finest comedians" are wasted, apart from one laugh-out-loud moment involving a dog's nipples.
