The Monk (Yun-Fat) is a Zen-calm martial arts master whose duty has been to protect a powerful ancient scroll. Really fucking stupid. Stiffler is not meant to be an action star. Stiffler makes penis jokes.

God this was awful but I managed to get through it all so I have to give it that. Was about to give it up but the two mediocre fights at the end got me through.

Bland, dull “East-meets-West” actioner – Scott never convinces as a slimy pickpocket; it might have been better if he’d gone the full “Stifler” and be done with it. Attempt to marry kung-fu with mystical, MATRIX sensibilities are curtailed by Hunter’s insistence on shooting the action as a series of quick cuts, negating any of the athletic flourishes that would distinguish, say, a Jackie Chan effort. Gets by purely on Yun-Fat’s inherent charisma and likability, but even that only goes so far.

Luckily there isn't any rap artists on cast list, like almost every Hollywood action films made in start 21 century had. Still the movie is made badly. For martial-art fans only.

This movie came in a box of 3 with Kung Pow. There is no way it can even lick dust off Kung Pow's shoes. What a nightmare.

This is an enjoyable action, comedy movie. The move does have some flaws, the script has some weak moments and the villains are not very interesting. Sean William Scott and Chow Yun-Fat work well together and they seem to be having a lot of fun. There are some funny moments and some exciting action scenes. Overall I would recommend this film.

The first ten minutes are really entertaining. I wish we got Chow Yun-Fat vs the Nazis instead of what the rest of the movie ended up being.

Fun, silly, martial arts and coming of age film with a couple of good looking kids fighting stuff and trying to overcome their various issues along the way. Plot kind of predictable but still a nice warm cosy feeling ending, with some sweet moments and some humour.

If you work in a run-down theater that plays a lot of kung-fu movies you actually start to pick some of it up.

A miscast, forgettable and rushed mess. Chow Yun-Fat's talent is completely wasted and Scott's formulaic acting agenda continues. The action itself is poorly executed and looks stupid. An embarassing reminder why Chow Yun-Fat should probably stay away from American cinema if he wants to keep his career on track.

Some decent action scenes can't save this film from sucking ass. What did you expect from the epic team-up of the writers of Josh Kirby: Time Warrior, and... wait... Paul Hunter? Isn't he a music video director?
