Buckskin Frontier

A dependable if not very thrilling western from the producer and director a few hundred B westerns. It's odd seeing Cobb in a western, especially playing Wyatt's father since they were exactly the same age.

Richard Dix was always a stern actor, so the westerns he did toward the end of his career was always more acting based than the films of his fellow men of the west did. His acting style wasn't of the explosive kind either, playing more the respectable man. In that sense Dix westerns felt less spectacular than the competition. Solid storytelling, but lacking the spark the aging man couldn't give.
