Brooklyn 45

There are some weaknesses but an otherwise interesting concept. Wish they pulled fewer punches with the characters backstories. The Major character also pulled me out of it a few times.

Bob, a functionary for the Pentagon, attends a seance with a friend group of war criminals, and one other innocent. He leaves traumatized and tainted.

Sometime Geese quacks.

Listening to the same argument repeatedly between people for 7-10 times can be monotonous, as you wait for something new to emerge, but it never does. It's similar to a couple's argument that keeps repeating without resolution until one of them decides to end it. I found it to be repetitive and lost interest. It's not a horror movie, really. Yeah, it's gruesome... but boring.

Chamber play that sometimes remembers it's set itself up to be a supernatural horror movie. There's a very rich vein running through it of PTSD, paranoia and misaimed patriotism, of having done the wrong things for the supposedly right reasons, and the actors hit it often enough to be worthwhile. At other points it just feels like a rehearsal. Which may be a metaphorical point for a 2023 movie about fascism, but doesn't help it work.

Brooklyn 45 is a great horror film set in one location. A gripping and surprisingly good ghost story. The frightening effects of the war on people and the traumatic events experienced in the war are reflected very well through the characters. It can also get quite interesting on the ways of coping with grief and pain. It will be one of the movies that will be at the top of my year-end horror list.

Creepy bottle episode that has a good cast and is a commentary on war and how it doesn't really end for too many who survive it.

What made me watch it was the old school inspired poster and the time it takes place. Turned-out to be a decent one mixing post-WWII paranoia with the occult for a often humorous mild horror effect. Never feels like a major movie experience, but for a smaller one it's nicely polished for what it's goes for.
