Broadway Melody of 1938

The show numbers here wasn't all that striking. I just couldn't get into Eleanor Powell's tap-dancing here. Too plain. Also the combination of Broadway and horses was all too random and didn't mix well. What this did have was Judy Garland! She was still new to the movie industry and had yet to have a break-through role. And I guess this would be her turning point. Her two singing numbers were the highlights for me! Also the grand old dame Sophie Tucker and her 'Hot Mama' number got me smiling.
