A surprisingly smart, witty, and outstandingly directed film. Plays up it's campiness without ever feeling condescending towards the subject matter and takes a decidedly feminist approach.

Joyfully entertaining and brightly filmed with an appropriate palette of sunny colors, this is, behind its potentially vapid exterior, a very smart movie with a lot of heart. If anything, Reed knew exactly how to sell his film to me, once and for all, by tacking on a musical rendition of the '80s pop classic, "Mickey," lip synched by the whole cast, during the end credits. How could you possibly go wrong with a slam-bang conclusion like that?

Harmless, insipid teen comedy is hurt by veering changes of tone the opening sequence promises a snarkier, harder edged dissection of cheerleading culture (and the associated pressures) but the film itself develops along the more sincere lines of the old underdog "ROCKY" formula, which makes it difficult to ascertain if this is probing its milieu or celebrating it. A fun cast (Dunst is always lovely to have around) and general good spirits make this an easy laid back watch.

This movie is funny. I saw it in high school around 2001 or 2002 and wouldn't admit it because it wasn't cool for a guy to like it. Eventually I stopped caring. It's funny and good.

Bring It On was alright. It wasn't bad. It probably didn't really interest me in the same way that it would have interested a high school girl or a cheerleader. I'm glad that I watched it. Gabrielle Union really upstages Kirsten Dunst. I have always thought Dunst was pretty bland but next to Dusku and Union she seems like a piece of white bread on a throwaway plate. Jesse Bradford was alright, if a little unbelievable as any actress' boyfriend.

Gleefully upbeat with a tongue in cheek approach that borders on the surreal. Also serves as an interesting pre-9/11 document of youthful American optimism. The first half is strong cheerleading and high school satire, reaching its peak with the bit character Sparky Polastri. Once the main competition starts driving the plot, it becomes less entertaining and more formulaic. Lost me by the end, but it's more entertaining than it has any right to be. Not a bad companion piece to CLUELESS.

This is fluff, but it's fluff with Eliza Dushku being hot, so it gets a better mark than it probably ought. Also, the scene with the choreographer was hilarious. Spirit hands! Also, was this film originally about the black cheerleaders? The scrappy underdogs, used to having the spoiled white girls steal their routines to win the nationals. They even use the phrase "Cinderella story" and have a hope spot regarding having the money to even compete.

very tongue-in-cheek, barely serious, veering on the parody of the very subject it is supposedly retracting (cheerleading). funny, smart and fast, if a little shallow. also, kirsten dunst and eliza dushku are pretty people, and jesse bradford is very charming. suffers from a mellow and slightly conventional ending, but overall a fun movie.

Bring it on is the kind of fun family film that makes you want to yell "bring on the sequel" during taco tuesdays with your family. Kirsten dunst dazzles us as louis lane while buffy alum eliza dushku razzles us with her bad girl persona, whilst still hinting at something vulnerable right beneath the surface. The cheers will be stuck in your head all day and well into the night!!! And the portrayals of african-american inner-city youth are both entertaining and accurate! Give me an A+!
