Breaking In

Black Thriller is my favourite bad genre. If you see one Mexican chances are they’ll be the most vile insane stereotype imaginable hellbent on stabbing or raping anything with a pulse.

Dunno why they had to really hammer it home that the one dude sucked a bunch of dick in prison. Gabrielle Union is 45???

Story can definitely use a LOTTA work Nice to see Union play something besides the "Angry Black Woman"

This was a perfectly serviceable thriller with Gabrielle Union completely pulling off her role. Simple, generic and fun. I enjoyed it.

It wasn't terrible, but it also wasn't great. The acting was there with Gabrielle Union, the kids, and Billy Burke. But every one else was lackluster, the script was shallow, and at times predicatable..

It gets weaker and weaker and you end up not having any interest in how it ends. Not boring though.

Modern day Die Hard, only this time with a woman defending her children. Decent thriller.

I really liked Gabrielle Union, but the writing in this was just terrible. The plot was often as annoying as the awful overblown music that accompanied it. Bad writing and stupid unbelievable dialog. Overall, this was disappointing and mostly a waste of time.

For the most part, this is nothing spectacular. I've seen far worse attempts at the same plot, to be sure. The one thing that saves a bit of credit here is that Union's leading lady is not the stereotype at all. She's a bad ass and she doesn't fall prey to most of the predictable missteps the protagonist has in these films.

While the trailer looked mildly entertaining, there really wasn't anything here to keep me sitting for the duration of the movie. No character development, no real exploring of the backstory, no twists...

I thought Breaking In was a good suspense movie. It definitely has an audience and I'm sure that audience lived it. Union does a good job of playing a mother who is all out of options and just wants to save her kids. The kids in this movie do well also. The criminals were all pretty bad. The guy with bleached blond hair was the only one who seemed to have any character at all. The Hispanic guy could not seem to find his accent and sounded southern mixed with Lithuanian or something.

Thriller à peine regardable, ultra formaté, pas assez violent et sans surprises. Je lis des gens qui osent nommer ça un "black thriller", permettez moi de vous chier dessus. Vous êtes juste en train de fabriquer un nouveau racisme, que vous cultivez d'ailleurs dans votre façon de vouloir toujours vous mettre du côté des minorités sans réfléchir, en les stigmatisant d'une manière assez insultante. Il n'y pas de Black Thriller comme il n'y a pas de White Thriller. Vous faites pitié.
