Brat Pack 1980s superstars Judd Nelson and Ally Sheedy reunite in this adaptation of the 1947 novel by Ross Macdonald. When the mayor of Blue City, Fla., is murdered, it's up to his tough-as-nails son, Billy Turner (Nelson), to crack the case. Billy isn't averse to backing himself up with his fists, but when it comes to finding his father's killer, he's prepared to take down anyone in his way in the corrupt Southern town.

"Brat-pack neo-noir" doesn't sound too bad, but unfortunately the film is very bland, like a double episode of random 80's TV-show, and feels too long at 80mins . Script by Heller and Hill is very generic and not very believable; Nelson is quite bad and miscast as the sarcastic protagonist and Sheedy doesn't really have much to do. At least it's fun to see Caruso in an early, although not very memorable, role. Even the score by Ry Cooder is suprisingly subpar. Small bonus for Florida locations.

Lmao Bender from The Breakfast Club rolls into some key west-ass Florida town and stands up to corrupt cops and starts shooting up bad guys. Brat Pack contemporary western, who knew such a thing existed. Ally Sheedy briefly shows one boob.
