Bloodthirsty

Mostly just boring. Would be way better if it was made by a European pervert

Most elements here are actually quite good, but the dialogue falls short, occasionally raising an eyebrow. This is most apparent during the climactic twist; one that would have worked in principle, but isn't built up to in an emotionally effective way. In fact, the entire third act is pretty damning. While the build up is relatively subtle with a good atmosphere, the climax is both comically & tastelessly gruesome; and I was left wondering what exactly Bloodthirsty was wanting to say.

Shares an idea or two with Ducorneau's Raw, which is not a flattering comparison for the far less intense Bloodthirsty. Not that there aren't a couple of good moments here, but for a movie about delving into your dark side for creativity's sake, there's precious little character depth in the fairly standard werewolf metaphor, and not much in the slow, isolated, overly sincere storytelling to distract from that.
