A group of teen-agers vacationing in the tropics take a boat out to a seemingly deserted island. They soon find, however, that the island is inhabited by a wealthy recluse and his staff. While their host is initially hospitable, he quickly reveals his true purpose: to hunt down and kill each of his visitors, as he has done with everyone unlucky enough to set foot on his island. The Most Dangerous Game revisited. And note that even then Mike Brady was Mike Brady.

Apparently, if you hunt people on your private island to satisfy your own perverse murderous desires, when you die, the symbolism of your crucifixion will link you to Jesus. Who knew?

Fun characters, a scant 70-minute running time, and an unusual degree of sadism and gore (for the time) lend some vitality to yet another The Most Dangerous Game rehash.

Very boring, but when a guy falls in a bath of hot water or something, his melting face looks pretty cool. Watched it with MST3K

This is going to sound weird. I actually like this movie itself as well as the MST3k episode. Yeah It's got it's problems but I can't help but like it. I'm not entirely sure why but I do. I really really do.

Unengaging human-hunting story starring Mr. Brady flexing his muscles as hard as he can.

Flat and dull "horror" film (I guess) but this feels so wheezy and dated, and decades old even for 1961 - like a poorer example of the lesser Lugosi/Karloff efforts of the 30s and 40s. Outside of the mild amusement at seeing Reed prefigure his "Brady" schtick in the least likely of settings, the cast are uniformly drab and colourless, with Graff's chief villain especially disappointing. Unfortunately, not even bad enough to qualify as derisive entertainment.
