Having no previous experience with the source material, I approached this with no preconceptions. This is a pretty fun flick about a cute girl killing demons, so you can't really expect Oscar winning dialog. The story makes sense, there's plenty of carnage, and you get Yasuaki Kurata killing ninja demons in the forest. Yeah the ending is weak and the CGI looks cheap, but this was good brainless entertainment.

I love action films with females as lead characters. This movie, although I'm no fan of vampires, exhibited great action and fiction. Gianna Jun's acting was bloody good. I love her; she's adorable and I hope she makes more movies like this.

I haven't seen the original series or anime but this was awful enough on its own. This was genuinely painful to watch, everything was done so poorly that I can't imagine the people involved were anything but amateurs. The CGI is some of the worst in the business, the acting is lifeless, the action is poorly choreographed and boring and don't even get me started on the fucking finale. The forest scene is good for a laugh but the rest is so painfully dull it doesn't even work as a good-bad movie.

The action and styleishness are both solid, but neither is fresh enough to carry the film anywhere new or heart-pumping exciting. I was totally hooked heading into every brawl, but coming out of it I felt like there could have been something better. clocks in at 90min but another 30min to probably would have served it well. definitely enough in the story and the character of Saya that I'm sure I didn't see. The movie was rushed abruptly to its ending, and I can't figure why.

Tries too hard to be cool with its flashy and quick camera work. That mistake results in a huge bore and fights you can hardly follow. There's 1 cool scene though, with Ninja thingies in a forest, but it's only 4 seconds long so not really worth watching the whole movie for that

Muddled and confusing. Effects are hokey (the demons look worse than the dogs from Ghostbusters). It could have been much better.

one scene I really liked was the truck fight...the rest of the movie was so boring and ridiculous...I should have shut it off after the crouching tiger opening

Good lord the ending is awful. While the dialogue and script are atrocious, and Saya seems to have graduated from the Dante/Kratos/Samanosuke school of improbable oni-slaying, I dig the CGI and the original manga/anime concept, so this is passable. But the last 15 minutes is What The Shit? bad. Wow.

A movie like this is never going to be a masterpiece. You watch it for the action, and the action only. And the action here is lame. Skip it.

I will never understand how it is that the Blood series was popular enough to spawn an adaptation...

A story that makes little or no sense, a terrible script, awful characters, dodgy CGI, and crap acting almost sums this film up perfectly, but not quite! Despite its inherent problems, this film is kind of fun, and does some have lovely stylistic touches that can be admired. Its a shame that much of that style is wasted on what is one of the worst movie plots and screenplays I have ever come across.

This was one movie I was looking forward to, without having seen anything else to do with it. It just sounded cool. Well, it wasn't. The only cool thing I liked about this movie was some of the fighting scenes and sometimes even that was a bit much. A lot of the acting was way over the top, but the acting by Allison Miller was alright. Gianna Jun was nothing but sulking, that is the only range of emotion she showed. CGI blood and the use of CGI was so horrible and distracting.

Terribly written story and dialogs. To call story cheesy would be too generous, because it is downright dumb and predictable. Action scenes would be OK, if there weren't like 50 cuts in each minute of action, and most of it wouldn't be CGI anyway.

Not as bad as I thought it would be, although that'€s not saying much. The action scenes aren't that bad except they seem kind of superfluous and overlong. The blood is really fake looking and the cgi used to create it is too noticeable. The movie is quite slick and even stylish at times. Unfortunately, the acting comes off as amaturish and the script doesn't fare much better. Going in with low expectations and not expecting much is probably the way to go when preparing to watch this movie.

Moderately stylish and extravagantly mindless, the movie delivers on the first word of the title — in gelatinous cartoon splashes and splatters — if not on the last word.

Ropey CGI, a man in sun glasses pretending to be Liam Neeson, poorly edited action sequences removing any hint of choreography and a nonsense ending. Woo... Errr, no.
