One of the movie series that did survive the B-movie franchise crack of 1949 was Blondie. But only by a year. After 1950 they were also done until it was briefly revived for TV in 1957. I liked the scenario in Blondie's Big Deal (1949), but I didn't get many laughs out of it, unfortunately.
