This has a little bit of everything in it. Ostensibly, it's about two long-time best friends who start moving up in the world (as chorus girls), one being a little more street-wise and the other playing the "country bumpkin" role. There are some decent gags with that, especially as they both fall for the same guy. The remainder, though, seems like a transparent excuse to get in some dance numbers and a Jimmy Durante skit.

Princesa da Broadway estreava há 90 anos no Reino Unido. Seria um pre-code interessante escrito pelas lendárias Anita Loos e Frances Marion, mas o excessivo uso de rivalidade feminina para brigar por homem deu no meu saquinho. Ugh. WEBRip RARBG.

Watch this for the Jimmy Durante and Marion Davies parodying Barrymore/Garbo in Grand Hotel! It's a short moment and Durante doesn't have anything else to do with the movie as it's otherwise a superficial rich guy/lower class girl love story. The guy, played by the elegant Robert Montgomery, only wants fun and the girls (Marion Davies and Billie Dove) pretends to misunderstand that and want love. A good cast with an average story and middle of the road execution of it.

Marion Davies was a gifted comedienne, but her lover William Randolph Hearst kept sticking her in movies like this one that almost completely fail to exploit that fact. Sort of like a Busby Berkeley musical with all the BB musical numbers cut out. And Ms. Davies was 35 years old at the time -- still cute as a button, but SO NOT a teenager like we're supposed to think. It's almost as silly as when John Cassavetes played the biker gang leader with his poise and perfect diction in _Devil's Angels_
