I'm no gore-hound, never have been, but I have to admit (somewhat sheepishly, naturally) that I enjoyed the ridiculousness of the premise and the silly, anything-goes tone quite a bit.

This is the funniest movie I have seen all year. Think of a cross between the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Watership Down. The SFX were awesome, and completely over the top. The cute little sheep fetus was my favourite character, closely followed by Oliver Driver. This film is almost like an homage to one of Jackson's first movies Brain Dead ( A young man's mother is bitten by a Sumatran rat-monkey. She gets sick and dies, at which time she comes back to life). Just before Mike (Mick Rose) is

Certainly some funny and horrific bits, not to mention a new type of enemy for the horror genre (seriously, who's afraid of sheep?). It does have some bits that drag and some jokes that fall flat. It's worth watching if you're into the horror/comedy genre. Personally I'd recommend Slither or Ginger Snaps over this though.

Has some weak points but pretty funny and original overall. It's similar in style to Shaun of the Dead but with killer sheep instead of zombies.

Top badass moment? There’re three animals I hate, ants, wasps... and sheep. (If you’ve ever camped wild and tried to find flat ground that isn’t covered in black pellets, you’ll understand); and they've got evil, slitty yellow eyes too. And horrid spindly legs that they use to run into random things. And they stupidly get their heads stuck in fences. They're basically designed for horror. Sorry, got carried away. Yes, a good film. 1 (carelessly used) chainsaw, no cats or decapitations.

Not as decent as I was led to believe, not that I was led to believe that this would be, in any way, decent. Call me a high-brow elitist, but fart jokes aren't funny, even if they are sheep fart jokes. Though I have to admit, I lost it when the eco-terrorist broke out the aroma candle in the offal pit.

Has some truly hilarious moments and over-the-top gore. This movie is almost necessary though, considering New Zealand's huge sheep population as a subject of constant cultural jokes. It had many laughs for me personally because my grandparents have a sheep farm, but I could see this becoming quite terrifying for someone who lives in an area with lots of sheep. Generally though, it's fairly repetitive and disgusting and doesn't offer any insightful parody beyond the physical comedy. Dumb fun.

Okay it's not actually very good! But if you don't get some enjoyment out of seeing middle aged man being taken to the floor and forced to beg for his life, only to be savaged to the neck by a carnivorous sheep, then you're probably dead inside!

Dumb and full of cheap laughs, but I still enjoyed it. The effects are nice for a low-budget movie and it never takes itself too seriously.

A little low-budget film for all those of you who wonder what Hitchcocks 'The birds' would be like had it been directed by Peter Jackson in the early 90's. It suffers from semi-bad acting and is horribly mixed, but it does feature loads of genetically engineered, bloodhirsty sheep. Loads of cheap gore and no CGI used for the sheep...only good ol' puppets, which ensures some good laughs.

Starts out as a promising little spoof, with some confident direction, but it's just a little too simple and juvenile to be a real classic of the genre like Shaun of the Dead. It's fun but it doesn't aim for more than that. Best taken with a few pints and low expectations.

A real disappointment. If you want some fine comedy, just watch the trailer, as the film itself can't tell if it wants to be fun or serious. There are a few honestly chilling moments, and a couple decent laughs, but it falls apart when it tries to push a stupid ham-fisted moral. The potential is there for a camp classic, but...ugh. It just doesn't go anywhere with its ideas.

Although the concept is entirely unique, I have mixed feelings. At some points it appears to be a humourous spoof on the already popular "Shaun of the Dead" style black comedy and classic '50s horror films, yet at other moments feels like it actually wants to be taken seriously. It soon suffers because of this inbalance, failing to connect with the viewer fully and with some tedious scenes with poor dialogue and mediocre acting. Weta Workshop did a fantastic job with the special effects.

Zombified sheep from New Zealand was a good enough premise for me, especially after surprisingly good "Undead". But this movie barely kept my attention during its short span, not on the par with Jackson's B's.

A lot of very bad, but at least it is self-aware. Gotta give points for so much practical special effects, costumes, and so on while on such a small budget.

Definitely a one joke B movie, but the joke is a good one and well told – the killer sheep are well designed and simultaneously horrific and funny, and the premise plays out pretty much every permutation you can think of (including some perverse local flavour), and yet never overstays its welcome. Proof that you need only point your camera in a random direction in NZ to get a stunning backdrop!

In theory this movie checks all the boxes for me. Foreign movie that showcases culture; check. Comedy/horror movie; check. The gore was good in the movie and the special effects were done by WETA so that is all well-and-good. The story had some funny moments featuring the sheep but it just wasn't as over-the-top as as I expected for this kind of story. The script itself was good and I enjoyed the acting in spots but it just didn't appeal to me in the end.

I'm a bit baaa-shful about this, but I sheepishly must admit that I enjoyed watching rampant genetically mutated sheep gore people. A thoroughly tongue-in-cheek movie that I'd recommend if you want a horror spoof that isn't too baaa-d. I can assure you I'm not wool blind.

Birds with Sheep. Goes through some strange dry periods (the first stand off between the two brothers). Was given enough producer freedom to not end up like a 100 Bloody Acres with their overly bland characters. Still, Black Sheep suffers from the same lack of depth, see male lead. The self-deprecating concept is entertaining, & I'm glad it's been exploited. Could have reached higher levels of ridiculousness given the premise. The 2nd half of the cab side-plot hit the editing room floor I guess.

Like a mix of Dawn of the Dead, An American Werewolf in London and Countryfile. Yeah it's a funny concept, and it doesn't take itself at all seriously, but there's not much on offer other than the vaguely amusing sight of killer zombie-sheep. The joke wears thin fairly quickly and you're just left thinking that you've seen it all a million times before. The special effects weren't too impressive considering they were by Weta and some of the acting is just plain bad. It's B-movie stuff.

This movie is so unbelieveably droll! I can't explain it. It was like, ya know, a train wreck. But oh man, I had to keep watching. What was with that guy and his white sheep? That was pretty O_O. Heh. This is the poster child for movies to watch when you've nothing better to do.

Fairly amusing shlocky B-horror. Befitting a New Zealand-based, gory, cheesy, glorified B-movie, it has a very strong pre-Lord of the Rings Peter Jackson flavor to it.
