There is a scene where Tommy Lee is getting the business from a group of bad guys that goes on and on and on until he finally gets thrown under a car and pulls out a handgun. It lulls you right into awesome!

Sure this movie has it's charms, mostly coasts and relies too much on the two leads to carry a really thin plot.

Entertaining cool 80s heist movie based on a John Carpenter script (tho heavily reworked). The car chases and big final heist are worth the watch. But it's mostly the charisma of Tommy Lee Jones and Robert Vaughn as respectively the hero and villain that lift this movie up above average. I could have done with the romance subplot, especially without the quintessential 80 soft-erotic love scene between Jones and Linda Hamilton.

Let's have a car theft movie. But wait---we don't care about this awesome car, we care about some tape instead! Tommy Lee Jones seems bored/miscast here. Fav scene: how dare this bad guy I work for secretly tape me!?

A promising film at the beginning, especially with its cast, but its completely forgettable. It also has one of the worst hairstyles I have ever seen with the poodle mop on the head of Linda Hamilton; just when I was going to let off the 1980s for its fashion, this film makes me reconsider this.

Kinda feels like an episode of Macgyver or Knight Rider. Possibly the Rockford Files. That 80's TV show kind of vibe, which makes me think this might have been a TV pilot.

I hadn't heard of this film so I didn't know what to expect. The script is not perfect but it does have its moments. Tommy Lee Jones does a good job with the lead role. Overall I would recommend this film.

The movie does not have techno-babble, the movie itself amounts to techno-babble. Another problem is the editing, the most important scene in the movie (the meeting of the two leads) happens at 48 minutes. Oh! A car flies real quick, not worth the ticket IMHO.

Top badass moment? Kyle Reece is gonna be heartbroken. Features the fastest opening garage door on the planet, a great trailer, 'real men', an objectified woman with scary 80's hair, an FBI agent who's more cliché than human, a car that’s cool but not as cool as KITT, silly high-tech gear that just wouldn't work… and some pretty decent action in a horribly dated sort of way. Has a high guilty pleasure potential but loses points for not having a montage. No cats, chainsaws or decapitations.

I like Tommy Lee Jones and Linda Hamilton, I like 80s John Carpenter, I like thrillers. This is a waste of talent, time, and money. Dull uninspired crap that lacks pacing and more importantly thrills.
