Shows some promise, and Gleeson elevates his material, but wades unnecessarily into sappy cliché and melodrama. Also if we're getting picky this film called Black Irish concerns a light haired family with a Scottish surname they can't pronounce.

Well. The acting from Gleeson is actually fantastic in this movie. It hits some feels but not all of them.

"The blarney isn't the only thing that's thick in writer-director Brad Gann's Black Irish." - Ed Gonzalez

Too cliched to be considered a good film. It passes the time and I love Brendan Gleeson but it just didn't work. Gann's next movie will probably be much better but this is more or less a flop.
