The action is dreadful, and the funny campy stuff is tame and far between. Unacceptable even for blaxploitation.

a 70s kung-fu blaxploitation flick? Automatically starting at the top and can only go down from there. And it does go down.

I expected a low-budget blaxploitation martial-arts flick, but I didn't expect a film so... silly. Clouse's workaday direction belies the film's goofy sense of humor. Malik Carter makes the film as a semi-competent evil middle-manager. The film also gives Gloria Hendry a powerful role as an ass-kicking love interest and Scatman Crothers (of ALL people) as a karate master. The film suffers from scattershot patches of boredom and casual homophobia, but it has some good campy action in there too.

Feels very slapped together and the villains are paper thin. There are a few neat small touches, but they only make the amateurishness of the rest stand out.

Action is average at worst for the genre, but the real draws are the fine sight gags and splendidly tasteless jokes (Bad Guy, upon ordering a strangled snitch mixed into the wine: "Mark that down to 39 cents a bottle! He shit his pants before he died")

Had a blast watching this with my friends. I saw Black Dynamite and didn't realize how spot on to blaxploitation it actually was. A man gets belly bumped into oblivion!!

An enjoyable if scarcely competent and ultimately forgettable blaxploitation flick.

A fun watch if you enjoy blaxploitation flicks. Lots of campy goodness, goofy script and hilarious re-watchable scenes.

"Let's go to McDonald's!" One kung-fu cheeseburger coming right up.

Oh, man. So cheesy. Jim Kelly got a martial arts career despite not being very good by virtue of his appearance alongside Bruce Lee in Enter the Dragon. He's not so hot on his own, but this flick adds some amusing blaxploitation elements as well.
