Might be a cheap and clumsy production exploiting the name of Billy the Kid, but this small-time independent release featuring Bob Steele and his sidekick Al St. John was a lot of fun! They'd put an extra effort regarding the plot as well, so this was a poverty row western which delivered above expectations. Which is a surprise considering well known hack director Sam Newfield was the one directing.
