I don't see why some people think this film isn't funny. It's situational, ironic, sarcastic, and realistic humor about people in similar-occurring situations.

I like this movie. A victim of circumstance, this was made unseen by 9/11. But there's something about this ensemble and one-liners that make this well above-average.

Adapting a Dave Barry book to the screem is like trying to wrestle a greased iguana into a mailbox while eating a pop tart while spitting out the green sprinkles. In other words, your going to miss a lot in the translation. Plus, the book was a victim of the times around it - 9/11 delayed the release of the film due to subject matter. Jason Lee, Janeane Garofalo and Dennis Farina shine through though.

Something's missing here as Big Trouble is certainly less than the whole of its parts, but it's still an enjoyable romp held together by its taut script and menagerie cast. It looks like a garbage disposal.

Game attempt by Sonnenfeld to strike GET SHORTY paydirt comes frustratingly close (especially due to the enthusiastic performances by a well-chosen cast), but the completely forced and contrived underpinning of this tale eventually weighs it down, especially during an overly noisy (and wacky) third act. Still fun to watch and definitely has its pleasures, including Farina and Russo essentially repeating themselves, Tucci’s full-blown egomaniac and Sizemore’s cluelessly dumb career criminal.

It was funny sometimes and annoying most of the times, but instantly forgettable the minute I changed the channel. I never understood why you need so many characters played by B-list actors to tell a mediocre at best story unless it is a ruthless money grab. Oh.

Absolutely in love. Not too much depth too it, but if you want to get a break - especially if you are depressed and emotional like me - that's a gift for you.

What could have been a terrific adaptation of the wonderful Dave Barry book in the right hands turns into a humdrum Tim Allen vehicle. Stanley Tucci and Dennis Farina save it from being truly terrible.

Fairly average crime comedy is worth seeing for the interesting and largely familiar cast.

It's funny. A few missteps along the way, but most jokes hit their mark.

Woulda been ok, without the horrible actor to start out with, Tim Allen, cruising through for a paycheck.

Again similar cast (mostly supporting roles) with Men in Black II, same director, same publishing year. Too much comedy for one director.

Goes all over the map, but never hits paydirt. If you don't see half the jokes coming from a mile away, you really need to get out more

A pretty good ensemble comedy that works when it's on and completely fumbles when it's off.

This move isn't worth much, but the exchanges with the FBI agents make it quite amusing. "We're opperating under Special Executive order 768-04 which basically means that if it's a matter of national security, we can send a search party and a dobberman pintcher up your ass."

Tries to be entertaining by throwing as many characters as possible into one story.

This movie definitely suffers from having too many characters and not enough time for us to care for any of them and their stories. It's interesting, but overall it's too much to take in.

Passable comedic yarn, some nice set pieces, and it has Foreman from House in it, being an FBI man instead of a Doctor for once. I suppose the highest praise I could give it is that it wasn't as shit as I thought it would be.
