Big Monster War

While the first was grounded in period drama conflict and traditional ghost stories; this is a concoction of effects, horror, and silliness. As these goofy yokai chum around, one suspects the debut of GeGeGe no Kitaro on TV may have played into things. The rubber-suit demon murdering and possessing people also anticipates live-action shows like Kamen Rider around the corner. Daiei was dipping a bit into horror at the time: this was in a double bill with The Snake Girl and the Silver-Haired Witch

Goofy movie that has freaky looking monsters and isn't afraid to show them shedding blood or getting badly hurt. Works for a younger audience.

Goofy horror comedy for a younger audience, this is still a lot of fun with cool creatures and cheesy battles. Ironically this film has way more monsters than another film in this series titled "100 Monsters".
