Fuck "Beverly Hills Cop III". I've been sitting here trying to find the words to aptly describe how much of a draining slog this contractually obligated nightmare of a film is for 15 minutes now, and I've determined that no four phrases in the English lexicon could ever sum up my disdain for it better. Every scene is soul-crushing to sit through, every joke is delivered with a display of utter contempt for whoever wrote it, and everything I love about this franchise is dead. Good riddance.

Lame, looking extremely cheap (did all early 90s Paramount movies have the same cinematographer?) and completely lacking any sort of excitement. Still, at least it's not a Tony Scott movie.

Has its moments, and some amusing cameos courtesy of Landis' influence, but it is sad to see Foley finally stripped of almost all of the edgy charm he had in the original and plugged into a sanitised, almost TV movie-ish programmer like this. A great action sequence set on a broken Ferris Wheel, and the residues of Murphy's charm, keep it watchable.

B.H 3 was doomed from the getgo. Saddled with a weak script, an unsuitable director and Murphy's newfound desire to be taken 'seriously', the end result was an overproduced, watered down kid friendly effort that is let down by its theme park setting and Murphy's curiously restrained use of profanity. The dearth of real laughs and hard hitting action was simply inevitable under the circumstances. It picks up steam towards the end, but it's a forgettable film that is mechanical and perfunctory.

Losing the central supporting cast from the prequels is a hit to the BHC feel of the film, but BHC3 suffers the most from Eddie Murphy's bizarre decision to play things straight. He was sorta obnoxious in 2, giggling about a dozen times too many, but that makes him only half-giggling once in this one feel that much more tonally off. Reinhold's much improved here, though. The film certainly has a lot of setpieces that seem ripe for comedy and action, but instead it's a humorless slog.

Beverley Hills Cop III is an awful sequel and I completely discount it from the series. Eddie Murphy has little to work with and he just cannot recapture the enjoyment of the previous films. The whole cast is poor in fact. The absent John Ashton is missed and killing of Gil Hill felt rash and unnecessary. Every decision made is a poor one. The most notable poor decision being a theme park for the setting. I don't wish to watch this film again and I'm satisfied with two Beverley Hills Cop films.

Weakest entry in Beverly Hills Cop franchise. First one had that unintentional popcorn brilliance to it, second was great because of Taggart and Billy chemistry. Third movie pretty much cashes in on a famous name and lousy, contrived script.

Before I watched Beverly Hills Cop III a lot of people told me that it was a terrible movie that was to be avoided at all costs, to which my reply was: "How bad can something be if it has Axel Goddam Foley in it?", and after watching, this pretty much remains my reaction. Sure, it's not as good as the first two, but by no means is BH3 horrible. Silly, yes. A little bit stupid, yes. But it's not like the popularity of the first two films rests on upon ultra-realism and grittiness, right?

Bland and extremely predictable, there's nothing really entertaining here. Murphy's good, but he doesn't have a whole lot to work with. The romantic interest is cardboard cut-out at best, and the climax is bland. Also, I think it was supposed to be funny, since I saw it on Comedy Central, but I can't figure out why or how.

No Taggart? Todd Dead? It was almost definitely going to be bad. The one saving grace for me was the ending. It was an uplifting ending. The rest of the film is pretty much rubbish though. It used to be at least a little bit serious, now it's just silly. Also, how can everybody in the world be in on the crime?

Actually my favorite movie in the franchise. It goes more ham on the action setpieces and while I would never call of these exceptional they do have a solid amount of personality and has fun with the general goofiness of it all. I wish they did more with the theme park setting for their action scenes but I'll give them props for at least using the ferris wheel scene. This movie leans a lot more on cheesy ridiculousness and I think that works to its benefit greatly.

You know, I didn't expect this to be good, but Jesus Christ is this awful. Everybody is stilted and awkward, like they are all just pretending to make a movie. Eddie Murphy seems to think he's in a serious cop film. Judge Reinhold seems to think he's in a whacky "Police Academy" film. Even in the few moments where they muster up a decent action scene, the terrible score ruins it. Just dreadful.

Often almost funny. You can recognize a joke is being made, you can see the components of the joke and understand how it could be funny if executed properly. But they are never executed properly, and you get a film that's largely frustrating.

The one thing the movie has going for it is Ellis DeWald, the series' sleaziest and most hatable villain. Other than that, it is utterly absent the first film's charm and effortless cool and even the second's Tony Scott style. It's just there. Silly and unconvincing.

None of it worked. My points are for the cast and cameos: Saxon, McHattie, Harryhausen, Arthur Miller, Dante, Medak, Al Leong! And of course the return of Bronson Pinchot who steals the movie with a laundry soap joke.

Poor throughout but not necessarily awful for the most part, the final 20-30 minutes change this as the film transforms into some ridiculous (but not funny) slapstick comedy that mostly involves Foley boringly fighting off security guards who should have already killed him a million times over. By the time the credits roll you’re just angry you haven’t watched a Beverly Hills Cop movie, cos I don’t know what this is.

Beverly Hills Cop was pretty good. This combines all of the flaws of the entire franchise and conveys it in with Eddie Murphy to make a travesty and a train-wreck of a cop film. I will confess that I did have a little fun with it, although a quarter of that enjoyment matched up with misery in a cold stare. Screw you Landis and your cash-ins. SCREW YOU!

They definitely ran out of ideas at this point, but at least Murphy still had a few good lines. And hey, I like Judge. He always plays a silly character, and this movie is no different. Still... they should've just left this at two and been done with it. Oh, and the villain? Yeah, I can't quite recall just why he's so villainous. More lame than anything else.

Beverly Hills Cop was decent. The sequel was a slightly annoyingly similar reproduction, but still a worthwhile watch. This, however, is a travesty. The story is so badly written you won't believe it. The amount of funny Murphy moments has dropped to a sad 0, and overall it's simply predictable and lame. And outrageously bad in every respect. AVOID.

It seems to be very difficult to repeat the formula of the 1st film: first sequel was too action heavy and this goes overboard with comedy. It’s clear from the first scene that the tone is off and Landis is not at the peak of his game. The scenes with "Serge" are too silly and Reinhold’s character is downgraded to a comic relief. Elizondo is a fine addition but no substitute for Ashton. This would be OK as a generic 90’s action film but as a BHC film it's very disappointing.
