Most excruciating cringe comedy dinner scene since The Heartbreak Kid

Absolutely love Sean Price Williams cinematography here. He really is in a league of his own when it comes to American indie cinema. Went from feeling like this is a masterpiece to its a little too hokey and then settling back on loving it. The dinner scene is on of the best of the 2020s just unbelievably raw, hilarious and cringe (in the good way). The reoccurring broken door gag had me in tears from laughing.

Obsessed with that final dinner scene, that's cinema to me.

If you're a fan of Jason Schwartzman or Carol Kane, and can handle some very cringey moments then give Between The Temples a chance. I like what this is doing stylistically with decision to shoot in film, and the soundtrack is very good. Schwartzman does a great job here, but despite the lovely Chemistry with Carol Kane her casting feels a bit predictable. I also think the climax is a bit forced, and the movie sort of just ends without much of a resolution.

Quickest way to my heart is an awkward/cringey/uncomfortable third-act dinner scene and this has an exquisite one.
