Best Man Down

Best Man Down is a mediocrely written film that is elevated by Timlin's performance. Long and Weixler's characters lacked any chemistry to make them believable as newlyweds. Their best bits were when they were playing detective, trying to trace down Labine's character's contacts. The scene with Labine and Timlin were sweet, and the film ends on a positive note. Unfortunately, for a film under 90 minutes, it feels like a long time to get there.

It's sweet. Kept me good company.

Addison Timlin is young and her acting was good. I was not entirely satisfied with Justin Long. The story has a lot of awkward drama with a sprinkling of comedy. I don't remember any laugh out loud moments. Not particularly good, but not particularly bad either, making it mostly a mediocre experience.

Sunday TV movie.

J.Long is an annoying actor and Jess.W plays an annoying character in this one, and we spend too much time with those two in a rather weak fist half. It gets increasingly better towards the end, so it's a downer that the script wasn't more developed. Big positives though from T.Labine, that brings his likeability in a screen-time-minor role - and Addison.T, that delivers a superb performance. *Preview*: #13#, exp-3*, story, cast, R2.
