Berserk!

The central murders mystery never really becomes interesting, which is made even worse by a twist that comes out of the leftfield. On top of that too much screen time is spent on watching irrelevant footage of real circus acts, whose real life performers play no role in the plot part of the movie. Joan Crawford's acting is, despite her still magnificent screen presence, also a disappointment. By today's standards it's so tame, it's honestly hard to call this a horror even.

Joan Crawford gives a surprisingly restrained and realistic performance. But she's the only good thing here.

There's a lot of potential with Joan Crawford in a circus setting, but not much is done with it. Mostly melodramatic with a blink and you'll missing it ending. The resident freaks have a song and dance number that's about all that's really worth seeing.

Kinda blah. The basic idea isn't bad, but it's padded way too much with circus acts and musical numbers
