Bernadette of Lourdes

French film adaptation of the remarkable life of St. Bernadette Soubirous (played by Danièle Ajoret), the famous peasant girl and later nun who experienced visions of the Virgin Mary in the village of Lourdes in the 19th century. She revealed the miraculous "healing spring" that is still visited today, and the shrine there is a major site for pilgrimage, attracting millions of Catholics each year. In 1933 she was canonized as a saint by the Roman Catholic Church. (my own & product description)
