Mike and Tony Petrakis are a Greek father and son team who dive for sponges off the coast of Florida. After they are robbed by crooks, Arnold and the Rhys brothers, Mike decides to take his men to the dangerous 12-mile reef to dive for more sponges. A total air-pocket of a movie. If it hadn't been available at the library I probably never would have seen this; about a decade ago I was conducting an experiment to see what methods of picking films were most effective, and for a while I was just grabbing movies randomly off the shelf at the library as a "control group". Furthermore, if I hadn't logged my rating of this movie in the IMDb, today I wouldn't be totally sure I had ever actually seen it

The underwater scenes were interesting and probably amazing at the time. Unfortunately the plot is bland and the acting is bad. At one point I Googled the movie to make sure I wasn't watching a bad dub.
