These Roy Rogers films feel a lot more adventurous in Trucolor. Was a solid B-mix regardless of the extra splash-on, with the playful nature of soon to be married, Roy and Dale Evans, and a lively sidekick in Andy Devine. But there was a lot of characters involved here, including one of the last appearances of African-American favorite Fred 'Snowflake' Toones, even joining in for a song with Rogers and the crew, and the absolute last appearance of another black comedian called Ray Turner.

A decent if rather uneventful western programmer that would benefit from a shorter run time. Rogers sings a couple of songs, Dale sings a song, the Sons of the Pioneers sings a few songs, and Trigger even gets to play a key role during the climax. The highlight of the film is when Devine's dog chucks one of the villain's henchmen off a cliff.
