Wiseman's most successul attempt (to date) to apply his particular documentary approach to a town/neighbourhood. The result is a rich and complex picture of the goings-on of Belfast, Maine. Wiseman manages to capture the essence but also the minutiae of everyday life. As is his prerogative, Wiseman avoids judgements of good and/or bad; he documents. The trapper and the trapped coyote are equals in doing what they to need to do.
