The month after having to share the billing with Helen Kane, William Powell has to share it with another showbiz personality that couldn't cut the mustard as a Hollywood star in Hal Skelly. Powell with a foreign accent is really on support here to vaudeville performer Skelly who gets to do a few songs and be the good guy picking Powell up off the curb and giving him a career as his stage partner. It's a dreary melodrama which never comes alive and just feels dated overall.
