The plot and message(s) are muddled and confusing - this movie was quite obviously the vanity project of a stand-up comedian, not a storyteller. Only Seinfeld's steady stream of one-liners add any life to the proceedings.

I just can't get over the fact that all the plants died without pollen - not fail to reproduce - just died. Then the pollen immediately brought them back to life. It pissed me off too much. The premise was barely hanging on but this stamped on its fingers and sent it over the waterfall. The moral message is "you are a small cog in a big machine but the machine can't function without you" which is reassuring in a dystopian kinda way.

It was as if they couldn't decide whether the film was for kids or adults--it started out with a story kids could identify with, then turned into a courtroom story, then an environmental thing; no wonder it flopped. There aren't many laughs, and anyone who expects made-up worlds to make sense somehow are sure to be infuriated. Not an annoying picture, but not cute either. Also, bee-human romantic relationship--WTF?!?

It's not very good, Jerry Seinfield simply isn't a good voice actor, this is especially evident when he has to do a trademark cartoon yell. The supporting cast is better but the script itself isn't good either. It feels like a copy of Pixar's A Bug's Life but all the technology just feels too far fetched and is just off. The animation is just OK and nothing special and generally the jokes aren't very funny. I suppose it's good for the kids but for adults it's pretty boring.

All work and no play so the flowers won't go away. What the hell is going on in this movie? Seinfeld shouts his way through a coming of age, interspecies romance, courtroom procedural, nature loving, bad pun filled mess of a i repeat what the hell movie. If it had more characters it would be as unfocused as 1941

It doesn't hit consistently enough to be worth a full recommendation, but Seinfeld is Seinfeld, and some of the jokes are very funny. Others...not so much, but that's what you get when you try to juggle between playing towards kids and adults. Warburton's voice acting is loud and annoying, but there are a bunch of nice cameos in the vocal department. A bee and a human in a semi-romantic relationship is just really fucked up. It's enjoyable, but it's certainly not good.

It's incredible how crazy this movie is. The unbelievable plot almost blew my mind of how weird and stupid it is. The voice acting is also very bad, especially Zellweger who sounds as if she's drunk the whole time. And bedbug.. Did they actually imply that the bee has sex with the human? Seriously??!?

We in bed, hands on her good thighs
I try to kiss, she like "Good night."
But I'm like-
"Look, I just turned off The Departed for a movie about a bee
I've been cutting back on farting, tweeting, arguing, and weed
Yesterday I wore a cardigan at dinner with your sweet, and supportive...
And during the fourth quarter, of the Eagles!

Well, if you can take the seinfeldian material and the jewish (bees) allegory of pride and prejudice (gold as honey, humanity as the nazis), this will look incredibly underrated, but still of sort of too self-conscious even for grown-ups -- because kids definitely won't get or like this.

One of the most peculiar main-stream animated films ever made, presenting an utterly confounding story/screenplay making the strangest moves at every turn - if you've ever wanted to see Seinfeld in a courtroom saga, interspersed with an oddly muddled environmental message, while as a bee pursuing a romance with a human, I guess you can have at it, but unfortunately the execution fumbles which makes it a tonally odd bore - had it really indulged its strangeness, it may have been more interesting.

t sets up the Bee World and characters nicely and it features some solid jokes. But your mileage on this may vary on how much you are willing to accept that bees can talk to humans in this and the developments in a relationship between two characters because of this. For me because the movie was entertaining the movie could get away with it.

Bee Movie has all the talent to be a great movie but it just doesn't get there. I enjoyed this movie a lot. I laughed a handful of times. The voice acting was really above and beyond. The adulatory plotline that runs throughout the movie was a bit odd but there were some funny moments because Warburton is great at playing a loud buffoon. I liked the environmental message in this film - kids films should have a message. It's something I'd watch again but not again and again like a Pixar film.

Jerry Seinfeld is the perfect man for this witty and well written kids movie. It makes a point about how important bees are to society. As this film ages the messages it tried to send through an animated kids movie become more and more important. The voice cast is amazing including Bates, Broderick, Rock and Goodman along with Seinfeld. It carries enough humour to engage the kids and enough poignancy to make an adult tear up near the end.A perfect balance to create a family friendly movie for all

Points for a surprisingly good story, a few funny lines, a lot of great animation and going all the way with the bee imagery, showing their world and how it works. But that only just makes up for humor that's either barely worthy of a chuckle or makes you roll your eyes in annoyance. There's more "bee" puns in this movie than there are actual bees in the world! (That comparison takes on a very sad effect once you see the movie.)

There's good animation (the flying sequences are especially impressive) and voice-work (Rock, Warburton, and Goodman's distinct tones entertain) throughout, but the story is an inconsistent mess, moving from a classic leaving-the-nest plot to courtroom drama to saving-the-world action, with the far-fetched bee-human interaction shifting from excusably funny (see Barry's battles with Ken and lawyer Layton) to inexcusably ridiculous (see the instant death and life of the plants in the final act).

Terrible, in a fascinating, educational way. It's half Jerry Seinfeld ego vehicle, of course, but the other half is a slapped-together mash of things that worked in other kids' movies, taken out of context and used without regard for theme, coherence, or sense. Often, this mashup puts across fairly disturbing morals, that I'm sure no one who worked on this movie intended or even considered. The epitome of "movie as money-printing device, without care for audience, purpose, or meaning".

A bee falls in love with a human, and then sues all humanity. Along the way he uses a lot of bee puns and wordplay. Everything pre-humans was kind of fun and could have been a good short movie. The whole package seems kind of like a mess that didn't know who it was trying to appeal to. The dumbed down storyline seemed only for kids yet they had some (mostly lame) jokes that only parents would understand. Who was this ultimately made for? No one.

Despite being written by a top comedian and keeping the jokes flowing throughout, Bee Movie rarely hits its marks. So many of the gags are either undercooked or overplayed, and Seinfeld's decision to take the lead backfires spectacularly, his voice not lending itself to an energetic animated movie in the slightest. As a talking-insect kids' flick it's a passable effort (just), but not one you'll remember for long after or will ever want to experience again.

That it is. We live in a hive of sorts, buzzing frantically to produce and keep the system functioning. Are we doing what we were created to do, or simply what we're expected to do? Social commentary aside, Bee Movie is colorful, breezy, packed with positive messages and less predictable than your typical family film boasting a Happy Meal tie-in. As for the return of Seinfeld, the comedian's observational humor remains stinger-sharp, even if his nasally kvetching wears thin by the final act.
