Beauty and the Boss

A lightly delightful romance comedy with women swarming around Warren William. Mostly secretaries with flirting in mind. Even the church mice can't help but turn flirty around the direct talking bank manager. And I can't help but feel envious with Marian Marsh & Mary Doran both eager to impress the man. Highlight of the movie is no doubt the scene which introduces Marsh as the poor and starving girl demanding a job! The dialog between Warren and the slightly eccentric Marsh can't help but charm.

Viewed March 31, 2022. Another light-as-air Roy del Ruth comedy, this one about a wealthy banker (Warren William) who keeps falling in love with his secretaries. There's a playfulness to the staging and performances that keeps this premise from feeling too icky (Marian Marsh does an especially good job toeing the line as a headstrong woman who bursts into William's office and talks her way into a job), and some of the risque jokes are real howlers.
