I was feelin' the documentary but don't feel like it went into as much detail as it could have. Good as a Tribe primer, of sorts, and even though I'm white as snow (unless it's been pissed on...), I'm always fascinated with hip hop and hip hop culture, so I was interested. As someone else said, all it really has is some modern hip-hop artists to hype them up, but that's interesting and good enough. Could have been a 90 or so though.

Under Quarantine Film Reviews #111: Incredibly comprehensive documentary chronicling the rise and fall of the best rap group of all time. Fans will love it and the rest will become fans at the end of it.

This is an interesting documentary. It is interesting to hear about the good times and the bad for A Tribe Called Quest. I certainly learned a lot about the band from this film. If you are a fan of hip hop or the band you must certainly check out this film.

If you love Tribe (as I do) this documentary will satisfy all your fan desires. From an objective view point it's well done, but not anything special.

If you're into their music then this is a good insight into the history of the group. As documentries go though, it's kinda down the middle.

Unfortunately, too much time is spent on Phife Dawg's medical issues and conflicts with Q-Tip.

I wasn't very familiar with many of their songs (but I do like old school Hip Hop). It's interesting, but based mostly on hearsay than facts. It is nice to have a film about musicians that doesn't revolve around the, 'Start the band, hit it big, do a bunch of drugs, break up due to drugs, maybe get back together' motif.

I can't shake the feeling that I've seen this story before somewhere. However, I really admire the effort put forth to give historical context to an amazingly talented group.

Tribe changed my life and maybe that's why I loved the fuck out of this, but I think it is one of the strongest music documentaries I've seen...I was so afraid Rapaport would bog it down with the Q-Tip vs Phife feud but it totally works.

A bit inaccessible as far as the music is concerned, and the drama element just comes across as a he-said/she-said soap opera.

Tribe's music takes a backseat to power struggle and personality conflict.
