Anthony Wong and Michael Wong (no relation) star in this gritty drama about the chaotic and intertwined lives of cops and gangsters in Hong Kong, which are thrown into upheaval by a sudden power shift in the underworld. Anthony Wong carries the film with his performance as the weary police inspector who weaves drunkenly back and forth over the line between right and wrong. The action is also exceptionally brutal, with machete wielding hordes and blood flying everywhere.
