A tad above the other beach party movies, but that's not saying much. At least Dick Dale is in this one.

Pretty harmless time capsule of more innocent times. It's nice to see where films like Porky's and American Pie evolved from. The elderly anthropology professor spying on young people angle feels very un-PC from today's viewpoint. Plus points for Vincent Price cameo.

Intended as a cheap knockoff of an Elvis musical, this flick was so popular it kicked off a whole series of beach films from AIP. This is one of the best of the series. Dick Dale and the Del Tones play music, Lembeck is far less annoying than he will be in future installments, girls in bikinis shake their bottoms at the camera, and Vincent Price cameos. Cummings's beard co-stars.
