John Travolta is back as Chili Palmer in Be Cool, a sequel to the comedy smash Get Shorty. This time, Chili becomes a different kind of "hit" man -- he abandons the movie industry to bring his wiseguy skills and negotiation tactics to the music business. (MGM)

One of maybe 5 films in my entire life I've had to switch off before it was over because it was so painfully and insultingly stupid, unfunny and boring. Negative entertainment value, this abortion will permanently destroy a small part of the joy in your life. Seriously one of the worst things ever created by human beings.

Possibly one of the worst films I have seen in the year of 2009. I will have to go back and check. Vaughn who I normally like was just plain annoying and overdone. Supposedly this is a comedy and a crime genre (as per IMDB). Well it was a crime because it killed my funny bone since I didn't laugh one time during the film. Its weird how these films with a huge cast of names seem to consistently bomb in my opinion. I am not wasting my creativity on a funny pun for this horrible fim.

Travolta ratchets up the charisma to 11 and absolutely nails this role. He keeps the movie afloat when it should be sinking under the weight of all the reversals and plot twists.

The only reason I remember this film was because it told me you could only use the word FUCK once in a PG13 film. I think deep down I knew, but I had never actually been told that. To fucking bad it didn't fucking have any other fucking thing to fucking offer. THIS REVIEW HAS BEEN RATED R BY THE MPAA FOR GRATUITOUS SWEARING, VIOLENCE, AND BEASTIALITY.

It has a handful of good jokes and some decent acting but the plot and most of the acting sucks. Extra minus for trying to re-warm Travolta-Thurman dance scene from Pulp Fiction.

I've got no problem bashing this movie because it was god awful. All of the dialogue seems really forced, and the lines are horrible to begin with. There are way too many fucking cameos (not to mention I hate Steven Tyler). Just a bad bad movie. (it's sad when Vince Vaughn and the Rock are the best part)

Where do I begin with this piece of feces. First off it was not a necessary sequel, and second it was pompous. Also the performance of the Aerosmith song at the end makes me wish I could make my hearing work selectively.

Funnier than its predecessor, but not nearly enough. This half-hearted satire of the music industry (honestly, the jokes should write themselves these days) had me laughing hard whenever Vince Vaughn or even The Rock (who would've guessed HE was funny?) were onscreen. The rest of the film just left me wishing they were on again.

If you loved Get Shorty, stay the fuck away from this film. Chili Palmer does not need to be dragged through the world of rap music. If you haven't seen Get Shorty, then there is little reason for you to watch this film. Unless you really like the idea of John Travolta getting involved in Rap and R&B.

This movie was a complete mess. There were so many big actors in this and I don't think it mattered. It could have been performed by people at the bus stop and it would still have the same stupid story and annoying dialogue. One of few instances where having Vince Vaughn didn't help at all. The Rock was actually pretty funny, but still not that great.

Pretty terrible adaptation of an Elmore Leonard novel. The plot is changed significantly, losing a lot off the complexity and realism and Leonard's subtle humour which comes from sharp character painting is reduced largely to a parade of caricatures. Some good detail is retained, but I guess I only noticed this as I'd read the novel. Very disappointing.

When a movie starts off by mocking itself , its never a good sign. Be cool fails on so many levels its hard to watch sometimes. the director so wanted to make a comedy/gangster movie like get shorty, but doesn't accomplish this, at all.the humor is not even half witty. travolta tries to be the same guy he was 10 years ago, but just doesn't seem to completely admit himself, where the F was gene hackMAN! and what the fuck was fred durst doing in this movie? and vince vaughn SO wasnt funny.

A sad downgrade from the previous one, in spite of the attempt at setting up a big cast. Their attempts at being hip and cool and shove in all the forced cameos fall short and didn't age well at all. While the plot ressembles Get Shorty, there is more time wasted and the surprises are less punchy

I can't explain why I liked this movie, but I simply did. No, it's not great but it "felt right" is the best I can describe it. It just came together the way ingredients in a recipe do. Don't expect Oscar fare, but this is a fun, frivolous romp that isn't as bad as many of the reviews say.
